It gives me great heartache it write this but I'm hoping that this will help because right now I can not even function and I know it is not fair to my family and my other pugs. I will tell you what happened as some of you probably have seen docand write about Jackpot. Jackpot was 12 years old he came to our family as a rescue. he was found to have diebtics and his owners could not care for him. in the time that we had him he started to lose his sight and his hearing. We moved to Forest Lake six months ago. He and the other pugs adjusted well. as always like any other day on monday January 16th we my son and I took our four pugs to go outside to go potty. They always go in the front yard we have to sides to our front yard it is divided by our driveway our three pugs went to one side and jackpot to the other because he liked to go potty by himself. I saw that all dogs were accounted for and with tomorrow being trash day I thought I would be bring the trash down I looked again before I brought the trash down and all dogs were still in sight I turned my back for 20 secons to bring the trash down when I turned back around Jackpot vanished he was just gone. with him being blind he nver went far. from the very beginning of him gone missing their was never any tracks so we really fell that an animal like a hawk, eagle or even an owl got him. jackpot did not weigh much like only 14# we were warned about this when we moved here but we are always outside with our pugs they were never left alone. It was just a freak accident and I just hope he did not suffer. I try to remember all the good times he brought into our lives. But I also keep questioning myself what if i did not bring the trash down would my litle guy still be with me? or if I would have brought them out earlier?.
Thank-you for listening

I am so sorry about little jackpot! I have been reading Doc's posts on here and sending prayers your way! We live in a area where in the winter the Eagles migrate from the North down to the river here. Your story has made me realize even tho our back yard is fenced in that we are only a few blocks away from the river, and two of our puggies are very small also. Thank you for sharing this with us, I know your days have been very hard, and I wish I knew all the right words to say to you guys. I know he must have loved you guys very much, and as Rita said, he will always be in your hearts and memories. Maybe down the road you guys will think of something to do that would make him proud, something in his memory.
We lost our little min pin about two years ago. We had never had pugs, and since then have rescued two, and also gotten a little boy. I always feel zeus, our min pin would be very proud of us. We do it all in his loving memory. Sending a hug your way. Deb and Kids

oh no....I was so hoping for another outcome, as it was not what I was wanting to hear.....I have a feeling he did not suffer. He is in good place now, at the rainbow bridge, with in good health and sight and hearing. My sentimets have been stated but others at this point. He knows it was nothing you did wrong. You have our love and support and prayers, during this tough time, just know he was happy with you and greatful, for the time he did have with you. -

I'm so sorry about Jackpot...we've all been hoping for a better outcome. I'm sure this was very difficult to share. Our babies are just so vulnerable in so many ways. Not long ago we were trying to save a bird from 2 hawks and I turned around to see one of the hawks sitting on our gate just a few feet above our pug Sophia.....who being blind was oblivious. I was horrified at the thought he could have taken her while we weren't looking. You just can't have your eyes on them 24/7. You also can't change fate. You loved him....you rescued him....but something's are just out of our control. Like nature....
Will continue to pray for you....

So sorry to you both and Jackpot's buddies. Like the others on here have said, somethings are just out of your control, you should never blame yourself. I hate "what if's", they drive us crazy and fill us with doubt and sadness and self-blame, you have to rememeber its not your fault and it was out of your control. Our thoughts are with you.

I am so sorry to hear about Jackpot, was so hoping you would find him OK. We always blame ourselves when something happens, but the whole thing was out of your hands. God called him back, and he had lived a good life with you. Bless you for rescuing him and taking care and loving him.

Brenda, you already know how I feel about Jackpot
. Now all we have is to look forward to the future. We have to get together soon for pug playtime, Lexi would like that and I'm sure that your puggers would to
. If you ever need support, give me a call and we can both shed some tears together. Jim(Doc) and his girls -

I am so sorry about Jackpot. We do our best to protect them at all times, yet sometimes things will happen despite our best efforts. We all feel your pain and heartache. I think a memorial for him is a great thing to do. Plant flowers or a beautiful tree in his memory. Many prayers for peace and comfort.

well, it's been a little over two weeks now and eveyday I still think about my Jackpot. Sometimes when i go down to let the other puggies out I count only three and then I remember my little guy is watching over my three and me. I still miss him terribly and with the snow melting all the old tracks are popping though. I look out my window and just cry. I know everyday people tell me it will get better but I still miss him. RIP Jackpot.
